Description
Nasrin Charkhat (born 1982 - Tehran) is a graduate of the Master's degree in painting from the Tehran University. During her studies (undergraduate or postgraduate), she spent most of her time drawing, painting, and studying art related books. The keen interest in sketching and painting led her to the distinguished professor Mr. Mehrdad Khata'I’s classes. After graduation, she started educating painting to children aged 5 to 8 years old. In 2015, her surgery was an idea to seriously create the works of painting on the subject. Nasrin says about herself:
In 2014-2015 I had a surgery on my womb and I had to cut off part of my body and remove it. I got the idea of my work from my surgery. I've used colored pins that stick together. I used lozenges (spangle) as positive and negative spawning & nylon to cover and protect circular eggs. It seems to me that using these mediums help me to find the concept in my mind. Pieces of the body that are at risk of negative spawning and should be protected.
