Nazila Karimi is a researcher and digital art artist who holds a Master's degree in Art Research from Islamic Azad University, Central Tehran Branch. She is the author of a book on glitch art titled "The Glitch: The Language of Pixels" in Iran, which explores Iranian familiarity with this genre of digital art. The book was published by Nazar Publishing in 2023. She is also the translator of three books in the field of digital arts:
  • "The Glitch Moment(um)" by Rosa Menkman, the first manifesto of glitch art in the world.
  • "Beyond Resolution" by Rosa Menkman.
  • "The Aesthetics of Glitch" by Shai Moradi.
As a video art and new media artist, she has participated in several domestic and international exhibitions. Notably, she took part in the first glitch video art exhibition in Iran at Bavan Gallery in 2020. She later participated in the "Pixel Aesthetics" exhibition with her video art piece "Epilepsy" at the Kandovan Building of the Pejman Foundation. In 2021, her photography works were showcased at the Nowroshun Motion exhibition in London and the Modus exhibition in London. Subsequently, she presented her photography collection at the Rome Art Fair in Italy, curated by Luca Cerci.
